Abstract

Description
本发明涉及用于检测物品未经许可而被取走的电子防盗系统的防盗标签,特别涉及可撤销的共振标签。
用来检测零售店和/或图书馆之类其它设施中的物品或货物未经许可而被取走的电子防盗系统是众所周知并被广泛使用。一般来说,这类防盗系统使用一贴在、联接在或固定在受保护物品或其包装上。视所使用防盗系统的类型以及该物品的类型和大小的不同,防盗标签的大小、形状和形式也千变万化。一般来说,这类防盗系统在(贴在受保护物品上的)防盗标签通过一防盗区或监视区或经过一防盗检查点或监视站时检测一有效防盗标签的存在。
某些现有防盗标签主要使用于比方说(但并不限于)下述专利所公开的射频(RF)电磁场干扰检测电子防盗系统及其专利产品中:题目为“电子防盗系统”的美国专利No.3,810,147、题目为“噪声识别改进的电子防盗系统”的美国专利No.3,863,244和题目为“具有固有电容的物品的防盗标签”的美国专利No.5,276,431。这类电子防盗系统一般在物品从受控地点被盗走时必须经过的受控区建立一电磁场。每一物品上都贴有其上有一共振电路的一标签,当该共振电路位于该受控区中时,一接收装置可检测到该共振电路,从而表明物品未经许可而被取走。当顾客要购买某物品时,营业员使该共振电路失效、去谐、或者屏蔽或除去该共振电路,此时该物品可通过受控区而不会发出警报。
防盗标签可以种种方式贴在或联接在受保护物品上。从物品上取下标签既费时又费力,有时须用专用设备和/或受过专门训练。比方说,用金属贴条之类的专门屏蔽装置盖住防盗标签而使之去谐也得化费时间且未必有效。而且,上述两种标签撤销方法要求防盗标签可找到并可触及,因此不适用埋置在商品中暗处或暗藏在包装中的标签。
已知有使标签的共振电路失效的远程电子装置,从而失效的标签可留在从受控地点取走的物品上。用电子装置撤销共振防盗标签涉及到改变或破坏检测频率的共振性,从而使防盗系统无法检测到已失效的防盗标签。使用电子装置撤销防盗标签有许多方法,例如美国专利No.3,624,631和3,810,147所示系统,其中,用比检测所需高的能量烧断共振电路中的熔丝而激励或撤销该调谐电路。也可短接标签的共振电路而撤销该调谐电路。这类可用电子装置撤销的标签包括由该标签上的一凹痕形成的薄弱连接,该凹痕使得在标签基片相反两面上的共振电路的两个不同部分上敷以金属层而形成的一电容的两极板靠得更近,从而在功率不太大的情况下即发生电击穿。这一电击穿造成该两金属层之间短路。把这种可撤销标签放在收银台的一撤销装置上方或附近一会儿,从而使该标签受到功率大小足以造成标签的共振电路的一个或多个元件短路或开路(这视标签的具体构造而定)的电磁能的作用,即可方便地使该标签失效。
近来日益要求由制造商在制造厂中贴上标签,而不是在零售店由零售商贴标签。这类标签的使用因而已十分流行。由于这类标签可很方便地暗藏在一个物品中,因此重要的是能提供可撤销这类标签的其它的和/或另外的装置和方法,因此需要提供可用其它装置或方法撤销防盗标签的防盗标签。本发明为此提供了一种标签,它包括一种可使标签的共振电路失效的新颖装置。
简略说来,本发明包括一用于电子防盗系统的防盗标签,该系统具有使用一预定检测频率范围内的一频率的电磁能检测一监视区中存在有防盗标签的装置。该防盗标签包括:一具有第一和第二正反主表面的介电基片,该基片上有至少一个共振电路可以该预定检测频率范内一频率共振;以及应力集中装置,该装置使作用在该标签上的机械应力集中在该标签靠近该共振电路的至少一部分的预定部位上而使该共振电路失效。从而,作用在标签上的机械应力断开该共振电路而造成开路而防止该共振电路共振。作用在标签上的应力最好由其上贴有标签的物品在使用寿命中的正常使用而造成。
本发明还在一物品监视电子系统中提供一种撤销贴在受保护物品上的防盗标签的方法。该标签包括:其上有一共振电路的一介电基片,该共振电路在置于一电磁场中时会在预定检测频率范围内共振;以及撤销该共振电路的应力集中装置。该方法包括下列步骤:把该标签贴到一受保护物品上;在该物品的寿命期中正常使用该物品时在该受保护物品上施加应力。该应力断开该应力集中装置近旁的共振电路而造成开路从而撤销该共振电路。
从下述结合附图对本发明的优选实施例的详述中可更明了上述简述和本发明。为例示出本发明,附图中示出了当前的优选实施例,但应该指出,本发明并不限于所公开的精确结构和部件。附图中:

下述说明中只为便利起见而使用某些术语,它们并不是限制性的。“顶部”、“底部”、“上部”、“下部”这些词语指的是附图中的方向。在提到其中埋置一标签的物品或产品时使用的“使用”或“正常使用”一词指的是在产品的整个寿命期中使用该物品或产品,也即从购买该产品起直到扔掉该产品为止对该产品的所有维护和使用,术语包括上面专门提及的词语,其衍生词以及具有相似意义的词语。
本发明涉及用于一电子防盗系统(未画出)的防盗标签,该系统具有使用预定检测频率范围内一频率的电磁能检测在一监视区中存在有一防盗标签的装置。该防盗标签包括一机械应力集中装置而使应力集中施加在该标签上而断开该标签上的至少一个共振电路而造成开路,从而该共振电路失效。如下文详述的,施加在该标签上的应力最好是在其上贴有该标签的物品的正常使用过程中产生的。物品的正常使用指的是在该物品的整个寿命期中对该物品的正常使用并从而在该物品上所造成的应力。例如,对于一件衣服来说,正常使用包括把该件衣服穿在身上以及对衣服的维护,包括洗净、干燥和熨整。
在诸附图中,同一部件用相同标号表示,图1和图2示出了本发明防盗标签或标签10的优选实施例。下文中除了某些例外,标签10一般属于现有电子防盗系统中公知的类型。众所周知,标签10可固定或贴在受防盗或监视系统保护的物品或零售商品上或其包装上。标签10可由物品制造商或零售商固定到零售店之类设施的商品或其包装上或最好是藏在物品或其包装中。
标签10与物品防盗电子系统(未画出)、特别是射频类物品防盗电子系统配合使用。这类物品防盗电子系统是公知的,因此对于理解本发明来说无需对其结构和工作情况进行详细说明。只须指出,这类物品防盗电子系统一般在零售店之类设施的进口处设立一监视区。该防盗系统的作用是检测物品或其包装上贴有有效防盗标签在该监视区中的存在。
在本实施例中,防盗标签10包括下文欲详述的元件,它们构成一共振电路,该共振电路在受到一定检测共振频率或其相近频率下的电磁能作用时共振。典型的物品防盗电子系统包括把防盗标签10的共振频率或其相近频率的电磁能传布到整个监视区中的装置以及在该监视区中检测因有效防盗标签共振电路的存在而造成的电磁场干扰从而确认防盗标签10的存在的装置。
在其优选实施例中,该标签10为具有第一表面14(图2)和第二表面16(图1)的一般为正方形的绝缘或介电薄基片12。基片材料可以是任何固体材料或为各种材料的合成结构,只要该基片绝缘而可用作电介质。基片12最好由公知的绝缘介电材料制成,例如聚乙烯之类的聚合材料。但熟悉本技术领域的人士当可看出,也可用其它介电材料制成基片12。
该标签的基片12上还有电路装置用来形成至少一个由预定电路元件构成的共振电路。这些电路元件用导电材料在基片12的两个主表面上印制而成。第一导电模型18印制到作为标签10的顶面的基片12的第一表面14上(图2);第二导电模型20印制到基片12的反面或第二表面16上,该表面有时称为背面或底面。导电模型18、20可用公知导电材料以物品防盗电子系统中公知的方式分别制成在基片表面14、16上。导电材料最好用蚀刻之类工艺印制,从而一般用抗腐蚀墨印刷在须保留的材料上后用化学试剂除去多余材料。在该优选实施例中,导电材料为铝。但只要不改变共振电路的特性及其工作情况,也可用其它导电材料(例如金、镍、铜、磷青铜、黄铜、焊锡、高密度石墨或含银导电环氧树脂)等代替铝。
标签10可用题目为“平面电路制作工艺”的美国专利NO.3,913,219所述工艺创造,该专利作为参考材料包括在本发明中。但也可使用其它制造工艺,几乎任何电路板制作方法和工艺都可用来制作标签。
第一和第二导电模型18、20形成至少一个共振电路,其共振频率在与该防盗标签10一起使用的物品防盗电子系统的预定检测频率范围内。从图3的优选实施例中可见,该共振电路由作为参考材料包括本发明中的美国专利No.5,276,431所示和所述的一与电容元件或电容C1串联的电感元件或线圈L构成。该电感元件L由第一导电模型18的线圈部22构成;电容元件C1由第一导电模型18的一般为长方形的成型部24构成的第一板和第二导电模型20的与第一板对准的一般为长方形的对应成型部26构成的第二板构成。导电成型部24、26为基片12隔开而形成电容元件C1。
电感元件L由基片12第一主表面14上的导电材料线圈22构成。电容元件C1的第一板即导电成型部24与电感线圈22的一端电连接。同样,电容元件C1的第二板即导电成型部26用在第二面16上的成型伸长部28旁穿过基片的一焊接接线(未画出)与该电感线圈部22的另一端电连接,从而以公知方式串联电感元件L与电容元件C1。
虽然该标签10上只有一个电感元件L和一个电容元件C1,但也可使用多个电感和电容元件。例如在电子防盗和监视技术中公知有多个共振电路。这些共振电路的构造可通过使用远程电子装置而改变。视标签10的不同使用情况,比方说可在制造设备处在当顾客购买贴有或藏有防盗标签10的物品时在收银台改变共振电路。一般在售出时撤销标签10,从而防止共振电路发生共振,从而在该物品通过电子防盗系统的监视区时电子防盗系统不再检测。一般在制造设备处发生的频率变化改变共振电路的共振频率。
图4为本发明的初始状态的防盗标签10所使用的共振电路30的另一实施例的示意电路图。如作为参考材料包括在本发明中、转让给Checkpoint Systems,Inc.的美国专利No.5,103,210所公开的,该电路30包括与串联连接的电容元件C1和C2以及串联连接的电容元件C3和C4并联的一电感元件L。这种电路结构使用在其初始共振频率范围在预定检测频率范围之外的标签中。如图5所示,通过在以后短接电容C3从而把该电容从电路30中除去而把电路30改变成可在预定检测频率范围内共振的有效状态。也可通过短接另一电容(例如C2)而使电路30不再在预定检测频率范围内共振而撤销电路30。为撤销防盗标签已导出种种其它方法。有些方法需要确定防盗标签在防盗物品中的位置后除去,例如撕去防盗标签或用金属贴条之类屏蔽或去谐装置盖住防盗标签。其它方法包括用较大能量照射标签而在标签中造成短路或开路,从而改变标签的电路形态及其共振性。通常用设计成在遭到足够能量照射时会以预定方式可靠改变的弱连接造成短路或开路。
至此所述标签10及其各实施例为在电子防盗和监视技术中公知公用的那类防盗标签。在制作这类防盗标签时,线圈22的面积和电容板24、26的面积以及重叠区精心选定成所构成的共振电路的预定共振频率一般等于或近似等于可与该标签10配套使用的物品防盗电子系统的检测频率。在上述优选实施例中,标签10的共振频率约为8.2兆赫,这也是许多制造商的电子防盗系统通常使用的频率。但是,这一特定频率不应看成对本发明有所限制。
本发明用一把机械应力集中施加在标签10上靠近至少一共振电路的至少一部分的一定部位上的应力集中装置用作标签10的共振电路撤销装置。该机械应力使该至少一个共振电路失效。该应力集中装置使施加在标签10上的机械应力破坏或折断该至少一个共振电路的导体,从而造成开路而防止该共振电路发生共振。
在图1所示实施例中,使该至少一个共振电路失效的应力集中装置包括沿着基片12上一直线伸展的一串穿孔32。由许多穿孔32形成的这条直线与基片表面14、16上的共振电路的至少一部分相交。在图1中,由许多穿孔32构成的直线形成第一穿孔路线34。该穿孔路线34包括沿着基片12一直线伸展的一串相间距穿孔32,各穿孔32穿过该共振电路的至少一部分。因此,施加在标签10上的应力沿着第一穿孔路线34断开该共振电路而造成开路,从而防止该共振电路发生共振。每一穿孔32在标签10上形成一薄弱点,从而施加在标签10上的应力集中在穿孔32处。通过提供一串穿孔32或一穿孔路线34,施加在标签10上的应力沿着穿孔路线32或其近旁切断、撕开或破坏标签10上的共振电路。标签10一旦受到撕、拉、推、扭或弯之类的应力,该应力就集中在穿孔路线34上,从而造成共振电路至少在某部位、但最好在许多部位处断裂,从而确保共振电路不再共振。
该防盗标签10还可包括第二穿孔路线36。第二穿孔路线36可与第一穿孔路线34大致平行且相间距。提供两条穿孔路线可进一步集中加到标签10上的应力。在该优选实施例中,电感L一般如图2所示线圈部22那样呈螺线形。熟悉本技术领域的人士不难看出,线圈部22的实际形状可改变,只要电感元件和电感值合适而使该电路在受到激励时可在预定共振频率内共振。若该线圈部22呈螺线形,在基片12相对两边处与基片12横交的一平面会在许多相间距点处与该线圈部22横交。最好至少有一穿孔32通过相间距的至少一点而确保标签10在受到应力时电感L断开(即开路)。而且最好每一个相间距点处有至少一个穿孔,从而电感线圈22在一点或多点处断开。穿孔32的尺寸做成其宽度小于线圈部22的宽度,从而穿孔32本身无法断开线圈部22。在标签10的一实施例中,线圈22的线圈线约宽0.04英寸并且相距约为0.015英寸,而穿孔32的长度小于0.04英寸,最好约长0.02英寸。这种尺寸可确保穿孔接触线圈部22的各线圈但穿孔32的大小不足以断开某一根线圈。
此外,第一穿孔路线34中的各穿孔32可与第二穿孔路线36中的各穿孔错开或交错。穿孔路线34、36中的穿孔互相错开排列可确保电感22的每一线圈上至少有一个穿孔32。应该看到,图1和图2所示穿孔路线34、36可以改动。例如,虽然所示穿孔路线34、36平行且相间距,但可以看到,若穿孔路线不止一条,它们不必彼此平行。例如,若有两条穿孔路线,它们可以相互垂直或相交成某一角度。此外,尽管所示路线34、36从基片12的一边以直线伸展到相对一边,但路线34、36也可伸展在基片12的对角线上。或者,路线34、36不必伸展在整个基片12上。只须指出,一条或多条穿孔路线可以种种方式布置在基片12上,本发明并不只限于所示诸种布置。
图6A和6B示出撤销共振电路的应力集中装置的另一实施例。在该实施例中,应力集中装置为随机散布在基片12上的许多穿孔。如图6B所示,某些穿孔会与电感元件22的一些部分相交,某些穿孔则不会。但穿孔32的目的仍是在标签10上形成足以断开或折断共振电路的应力集中点。
图7为标签10的剖面图,标签10包括基片12,基片的第一和第二表面14、16上分别有导电模型18、20,第一导电模型18包括线圈部22。标签10还包括用粘接层42粘到基片第一面14上的正面纸片40和用粘接层46粘到基片第二面16上的背面纸层44。每一穿孔32最好穿过正面纸片40后大致穿过基片12,包括其上的导电模型18、20。应力集中装置可蚀刻在标签10上,或者,若应力集中装置如优选实施例那样为穿孔32,则可用机械打孔工具打出这些穿孔。但熟悉本技术领域的人士显然可知,也可使用其它方法在标签10上形成应力集中装置,例如用激光在标签10中打出组成一定图案的孔。
从图8优选实施例中可看到,制造商在把一双鞋之类的防盗物品送到零售店之前把标签10埋置在物品中。例如,可把标签10埋置在一只鞋38的鞋垫与鞋底之间。在购买鞋38时,可在购买地点以短接共振电路的一电容之类的公知电学方式撤销标签10。然后,埋置在鞋38中的标签10因鞋38的正常穿着和使用而受到应力作用,从而使标签10沿着穿孔路线34撕裂、断裂或剪裂。这种应力造成开路而防止标签10发生共振。若商店没有电子撤销装置,那么该鞋通过正常穿着和使用会在鞋的使用寿命期间把应力施加在标签10上。当把标签10用在鞋中时,最好把标签10放在脚的突起部处,并使穿孔路线34、36与鞋垂直(如图8所示),以便鞋在使用中加到标签10上的应力最大。可在标签10表面上印刷一与穿孔路线34、36垂直的箭头50之类的标记,以便指示标签10在鞋上的正确放置方向。标签10当然可以使用于其它物品,比方说衣服。当标签10用于衣服时,衣服的正常使用、比方说清洗、干燥和穿着会把足够大的应力加于标签10上而断开共振电路而使标签10失效。
如前面结合图4和图5所述以及图7所示,标签10还可包括撤销标签10的其它装置,例如短接共振电路的一电容器的装置,从而使该电路或是不共振或是在预定检测频率之外的一频率下共振。可在共振电路的一个或多个电容元件上制出一凹痕或凹槽48,以便用高频电磁能短接该电容。显然可见,凹痕48与应力集中装置或穿孔32的不同之处在于,凹痕48设置在一电容的一板上而减少基片12的厚度从而减小该电容的导电模型18、20间的距离,从而便于用大功率电磁能短接该电容。与此相对照,穿孔32大致穿过基片12和导电模型18、20而在标签10中形成薄弱点而在应力作用在标签10上时便于造成开路。此外,穿孔32或应力集中装置的位置布置成最好在线圈部22处断开共振电路,而凹痕48与此不同,它位于电容的一板上。但是,虽然凹痕48在结构上不同于穿孔32,但熟悉本技术领域的人士显然可看出,许多适当布置在标签10上的凹痕也可用作应力集中装置。因此,应力集中装置除了一个或多个穿孔外,也可以是其它足以造成开路的应力集中装置,例如一连串适当布置或对准的凹痕。
从上述说明可知,本发明包括用于电子防盗系统的可撤销防盗标签。熟悉本扶领域的人士可看到,在本发明的宽广的发明性原理内可对上述实施例作出种种改动。因此应该指出,本发明不限于上述特定实施例,而应看作包括在后附权利要求书限定的本发明的范围和精神内作出的所有改动。
Claims (17)
1、一种用于电子防盗系统的防盗标签,其特征在于,该电子防盗系统具有使用预定检测频率范围内的一频率的电磁能检测一监视区内存在有一防盗标签的装置,该防盗标签包括:
一具有第一和第二正反主表面的介电基片;
一可在预定检测频率范围内的一频率下共振的共振电路,该共振电路包括形成在该基片两主表面之一上至少一部分处的一电感;以及
由沿着该基片上一直线伸展的一串相间距穿孔构成的第一穿孔路线,该直线穿过至少一部分共振电路,其中,施加在该标签上的应力沿着该第一穿孔路线断开该共振电路而造成开路而防止该共振电路共振。
2、按权利要求1所述的防盗标签,其特征在于,该标签贴在一物品上,该应力因该物品的使用而加到该标签上。
3、按权利要求1所述的防盗标签,其特征在于,该电感总的呈螺线形,从而在基片相对两边处与基片横交的一平面在许多相间距点处横切该螺线;而所述穿孔中至少有一个穿孔通过至少一个所述相间距的点。
4、按权利要求3所述的防盗标签,其特征在于,所有所述相间距各点处至少有一穿孔。

9、按权利要求1所述的防盗标签,其特征在于,进一步包括短接该共振电路的一电容而使该电路不共振的装置。
10、按权利要求1所述的防盗标签,其特征在于,该共振电路包括蚀刻在该基片的两主表面上的铝箔。
11、一种用于电子防盗系统的防盗标签,其特征在于,该电子防盗系统具有使用一预定检测频率范围内的一频率的电磁能检测一监视区中存在有一防盗标签的装置,该防盗标签包括:
一具有第一和第二正反主表面的介电基片;
所述基片上可在该预定检测频率范围内一频率下共振的至少一共振电路;以及
使施加在该标签上的机械应力集中在该标签靠近该至少一共振电路的至少一部分的预定部位上而使该至少一个共振电路失效的应力集中装置,从而施加在该标签上的机械应力断开该至少一个共振电路而造成开路而防止该电路共振。
12、按权利要求11所述的防盗标签,其特征在于,使该至少一个共振电路失效的该应力集中装置包括沿着该基片上一直线伸展的一串穿孔,该直线与该至少一个共振电路的至少一部分相交。
13、按权利要求11所述的防盗标签,其特征在于,使该至少一个共振电路失效的该应力集中装置包括许多随机散布在该基片中的穿孔。
14、在一种物品监视电子系统中撤销贴在一受保护物品上的一防盗标签的一种方法,其特征在于,该防盗标签包括:其上有一共振电路的一介电基片,其中,该共振电路在放到一电磁场中时在一定检测频率范围内共振;以及使该共振电路失效的应力集中装置,该方法包括下列步骤:
把该防盗标签贴到一受保护物品上;以及
通过使用该物品而把应力加到该受保护物品上,该应力在应力集中装置处断开该共振电路,从而造成开路而使该共振电路失效。
15、按权利要求14所述的方法,其特征在于,该标签包括改变该共振电路的共振频率而使该电路在预定检测频率范围之外的第二频率范围内共振的装置,进一步包括下列步骤:
在受保护物品上施加该应力之前,短接该共振电路的一电容而使该电路不共振。
16、按权利要求14所述的方法,其特征在于,该标签包括改变该共振电路的共振频率而使该电路在预定检测频率范围之外的第二频率范围内共振的装置,进一步包括下列步骤:
在受保护物品上施加应力之前,短接该共振电路的一电容而使该电路在预定检测频率范围外的频率共振。
17、一种用于电子防盗系统的可撤销防盗标签,其特征在于,该防盗系统具有使用一预定检测频率范围内的一频率的电磁能检测在一监视区中存在有一防盗标签的装置,该防盗标签包括;
一具有第一和第二正反主表面的介电基片;
一可以该预定检测频率范围内的一频率共振的共振电路,该共振电路包括一形成在该基片两主表面之一上至少一部分处的电感;
改变该共振电路的共振频率而使该电路以该预定检测频率范围之外的频率共振的装置;以及
由沿着该基片上一直线伸展的一串相间距穿孔构成的第一穿孔路线,该直线穿过该电感的至少一部分,其中,施加在该标签上的应力沿着第一穿孔路线断开该电感而造成开路而防止该共振电路发生共振。
