技术领域
本发明涉及与电动注射器结合使用的注射筒,更具体地,本发明涉及有可膨胀(expandable)安全密封件的注射筒活塞罩。
发明背景
用于将液体注射入动物的电动注射器是本领域公知的。典型的电动注射器包括注射器头,具有注射筒座,和安装在其上的驱动杆。该注射筒以破坏载荷方式或前载荷方式安装到注射筒上的。注射筒可以是提前灌满或空的,即,使用者在注射液体之前必须首先将造影剂打入注射筒。
用于电动注射器的注射筒也是本领域公知的。如在前一段所述的,注射筒是前载荷类型的,注射筒的后端插入注射器以将注射器附着在注射筒上。另外注射筒可破坏载荷,以使,例如,首先注射器的面板旋转并通过后面板前端定位注射筒。
注射器的驱动杆附着在注射筒的活塞上以相对注射筒向前移动活塞,从注射筒的排出端排出液体。在典型的注射过程中,由活塞向前传递产生的压力在约100psi到1200psi的范围内。为了保证注射筒的造影液体不泄漏过活塞,活塞组件典型地包括至少两个(2)与注射筒筒体一体化密封环。典型地,最前面的密封环所起的密封作用最大,而最向后的密封环是做备份安全密封件防止最前面的密封环失效。
带具有两个(2)密封环的问题是,一旦装在注射筒上,在两个(2)密封环之间的消毒是很困难的。对于多数的材料,用于消毒的气体很难到达两个(2)密封环之间的区域。据此,需要注射筒罩(密封件)来克服现有技术的不足。该设计在活塞安装到注射筒时减少了两个密封件之间难以消毒的空间。据此,提出本发明。
发明内容
一种注射筒活塞/罩组件包括附着在刚性活塞的弹性罩。罩包括至少两个密封环(前和后)以在液体从注射筒注射期间防止筒后部的液体泄漏。后部密封环在卸载状态下不接触或密封注射筒筒体的内表面。在加载状态下,当在注射筒向前排出端的方向施加力时,相对注射筒筒体向前移动活塞罩组件,在罩上造成压力。这种状况造成后密封件膨胀扩展并接触和/或密封注射筒筒体的内表面。
如此,本发明一方面可包括一种用于注射筒的活塞组件,活塞组件包括:活塞主体;和有通常圆柱形主体部分的筒,该主体部分具有内表面和外表面,具有排出孔的封闭前端,和至少部分覆盖活塞主体的罩,罩具有前密封环和后密封环,其中前密封环的外径大于后密封环。

图1-6中示出了带有可膨胀密封件,通常标识为10的注射筒活塞罩组件(“组件”)的实施例。组件10通常包括弹性罩12和刚性活塞20(部分示出)。组件10的活塞20附着在注射筒的驱动杆上,其向前移动组件以从注射筒中驱逐造影的流体。

可以预想,可以由任何适合的材料来生产罩12。例如,使用在注射筒罩20的典型材料氯丁基;然而,可理解为任何适合的弹性材料其具有适度的到较低的硬度。带有较低硬度的材料可潜在地更好适于该应用,因为较软的材料在压力下易于改变形状或更容易变形。然而,可选择性地,材料还必须足够硬以经受住较大的变形。
可以预想在注射筒筒体内部和可延伸密封件32之间的间隙可在0.0010英寸的数量级,以使只需很小的延伸就可形成有用的密封。然而,可以预想在注射筒筒体和可延伸密封件32之间的任何余下的间隙是可预期的,只要在从注射筒惯例的注射液体期间,可延伸密封件接触注射筒筒体内部。不限于本发明的范围,具体的应用可具有从0.005英寸到0.020英寸的范围的间隙。还可以预想密封件32可间歇地致动地与注射筒筒体内部接触,只要有足够的不连续的间隙存在以允许用于密封件之间区域的消毒。
一个注射筒40的示范性实施例可使用带有活塞/罩组件10。注射筒40包括具有外表面44和内表面46的筒42。注射筒可具有一个或多个固定凸缘48和排出孔50和/或金属路厄连接器52。另外或代替固定凸缘,注射筒可具有连续的凸缘以环绕注射筒的筒42。

Claims (13)

活塞罩包括:在径向向外的表面上的最前部的密封环,和在径向向外的表面上与最前部的密封环向后隔开的至少一个辅助密封环,而只有当在排出孔的方向施加力到活塞组件时,至少一个辅助密封环在活塞组件和筒之间形成密封;
其中只有当在排出孔的方向施加力到活塞组件时,辅助密封环与注射筒筒体的内部接触。
2.如权利要求1所述的注射筒组件,其中在辅助密封环和筒的内表面之间余留的间隙至少为0.001英寸。
3.如权利要求2所述的注射筒组件,其中余留的间隙在0.005英寸和0.020英寸之间。
