Scholars and finalists 2008
Google is thrilled to honor the memory of Anita Borg and her commitment to women in science
with the Canada Anita Borg Scholarship. Dr. Borg’s contributions have inspired many women
to study and advance computer science. As difficult as it was to select this year’s
scholarship recipients and finalists, Dr. Borg’s work and that of the new generation of
female computer scientists ensures that it will only be more challenging to do so in the
years to come.
Each of these extraordinary women exemplifies Dr. Borg’s spirit of curiosity and inclusion.
We are delighted that we have selected 17 amazing women as Anita Borg Scholars and
Finalists for 2008. Congratulations to these outstanding scholars on all on their
accomplishments!
