I can't take Yahoo! another day and the only replacement I have heard of, iGoogle, is set to be eliminated this year. Ugh. What now? I need a homepage with all my options on that one page. Who else has this?

http://support.google.com/news/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=59255 Look at the bottom of the page. You can customize by using RSS feed. I have the customized news through RSS feed on My Yahoo home page. Now it is just like igoogle but on my yahoo. It is perplexing that they want to get rid off igoogle but i guess they have considerations beyond my convenience.

I LUV "Google News - Customized" on iGoogle, have a number of pages, with a variety of topics. Sure don't want these searches clutter an inbox. Does anybody know an app, etc. that will use this feature?

I am disappointed at the termination of iGoogle. I love this feature; prefer it to MyYahoo, and love the iGoogle customized search gadget particularly. I see no point in waiting until 2013 to shift to MyYahoo, and will refine it and use it's search features starting today.

Thanks so much to the developer I've used this gadget with my iGoogle for years. Now with news that iGoogle is going away does anyone know a start-page that has a similar (widget/gadget/app). I would probably have been happy to continue with "myYahoo" startpage if it had had this function. For a bunch of Internet geniuses they (google) sure do seem to be able to engineer a bonehead maneuver killing a developed program with a broad user base. There must not be many people at google over 30 because this sure seems like the "internet" version of "New Coke". Again my many thanks to the developer.

This is a powerful tool. I'd love it even more (five star kind of love) if it would allow you to limit results to those that are from selected locations. In my news, I don't have need or use for news from outside of the U.S.

I have three occurrences of this gadget with different news items and they all work fine. However I've just tried to add another and it doesn't accept the setup text. Something must have changed to stop it working. Perhaps the developer can take a look(?)

I wonder why Google puts up gadgets that just don't work. Apple has a review process for the app store. Shouldn't Google have the same thing? I keep adding what looks like the killer app, only to find out it's completely lame. What's everyone think? Shouldn't Google review gadgets before we waste our time?

For this to work you will need one of these gadgets that you already have configured on your igoogle site. You will also need a second Gmail account. Click in the right upper corner of the working gadget and in the drop down box click on "Share this gadget" on the next screen insert your second email address and make sure where it says "send my setting with this gadget" is checked. Now send the gadget to the second email address. Now log into your second gmail account and find the email with your gadget and click on the link in the email. Now the gadget will be on the igoogle page of your second email address. now configure the gadget and send it back to your original gmail address. click the link and the reconfigured gadget should be added to your igoogle page.

Still broken. Jared Watson was right. Google will never fix it. I'm on Firefox, fully updated. What gives? Google, if your rule is "Don't be evil," wouldn't it be sort of evil to build things and then ignore your users when it doesn't seem to work? Uh-huh. Thought so.

1) When gadget loads on your igoogle page blank ---- Try maximizing and selecting a few tabs, then switch back to regular view... I'm not sure if this is consistent, but it works at least sometimes 2) When a news feed requires a subscription --- If you really want to read it, go back to the iGoogle home page, select news at the top, and search for the exact title of the article. I don't know if this works for all, but it definitely works for NY Times.

This could be a great and simple gadget (if it worked). In the past, it helped me with research and overall knowledge of a specific topic. But now it won't work at all. Google, please fix it!!!

I added another instance of this gadget and it does not work. So, I emailed myself "shared" the old gadget and that one works. You need to use a second email address.
