Yankee Aura at its best; George Herman "Babe" Ruth hits the Opening day Home Run at Yankee Stadium on April 18,1923. Jorge Posada hits the Opening Day Home Run at the New Yankee Stadium built directly across the street from the Original site of the Old Stadium on April 16,2009.Mystique: Both Players are the same height and weight and are both named George/Jorge in Spanish...This can only happen here in The Bronx.

The Yankees won all four consecutive World Series from 1936 to 1939 defeating the NY Giants in'36 and'37, the Chicago Cubsin 1938 and the Reds in 1939 I was a 12-15 year old who attended one game in each of the four years and sat in the bleachers for $1.10, double the regular season price for the bleachers of 55 cents. I learned from that experience ,in the bleachers ,not to bet on shell games where you guess under which shell the pea is. I saw many suckers lose, lose, lose. Oh yes I also saw the greats of that era Hubbell, Ott,DiMag, Lou,Dickey ,Lazzeri,Crosetti, et al. Oh to relive those years!!!

Sadly I have never been but I have been a Yankee fan since birth. I grew in Hoover, Al. across the street from a man named Ben Chapman. He played in the 1930's and was one of the first ever all-stars in baseball. I was 8 when I first met him unfortunately he passed away in the late 90's. At the Birmingham Barons stadium there is a road named after him. He was a great man.

It's pretty cool looking, especially the field itself and the fans all around, but it's just not flat out amazing.

I have visited the old stadium several times and consider it the most impressive and inspiring stadium in the world.
