Description

SUMITOMO HEAVY INDUSTRIES, LTD. is a heavy equipment manufacturer that has six business segments. Machine Component segment provides reducers and transmissions. Precision Machinery segment offers plastic processing machinery, laser processing machines, cryogenic refrigerators, defense equipment products, precision positioning equipment and forklifts. Construction Machinery segment provides hydraulic shovels, road equipment and construction cranes. Industrial Machinery segment offers logistics systems, parking lot systems, forging press equipment and industrial turbine pumps. Vessel segment manufactures and sells vessels. Environment and Plant segment offers boilers, industrial waste treatment facilities, air pollution control equipment, and water treatment plants, among others. On April 1, 2013, it transferred its logistics and parking system business to Sumitomo Heavy Industries Engineering & Services Co.,Ltd., and merged with Sumitomo Heavy Industries Techno-Fort Co.,Ltd.
