Sino-Forest Corporation (Sino-Forest) is a commercial forest plantation operator in the People�s Republic of China. Its principal business include the ownership and management of forest plantation trees, the sale of standing timber and wood logs, and the complementary manufacturing of downstream engineered-wood products. As of December 31, 2010, it had approximately 788,700 hectares of forest plantations under management. In addition, it holds interest in Greenheart Group Limited, which manages approximately 184,000 hectares of hard forest concessions in Suriname. It operates in three segments: Wood Fiber Operations, and Manufacturing and Other Operation. On January 4, 2011, it acquired HOMEX Limited. On February 5, 2010, it acquired Mandra Forestry Holding Limited. As of June 1, 2010, it held 39.6% in Greenheart Resources Holdings Limited. As of September 27, 2010, it had 59.1% interest in Greenheart Group. In November 2010, it acquired radiate pine plantation in New Zealand.
