Description

Sherritt International Corporation (Sherritt) is a Canada-based natural resource company, which operates in Canada and Cuba. The Company, through its subsidiaries, has interests in nickel and cobalt mining, processing and refining; thermal coal technology and production; oil and gas exploration, development and production, and electricity generation. The Metals segment comprises the mining, processing and marketing of commodity nickel and cobalt and includes the production and sale of agricultural fertilizers. The Coal segment mines and sells thermal coal for use as fuel to generate electricity and holds a portfolio of royalty assets. The Oil and Gas segment includes exploration and development of oil and gas in Cuba, Spain, Pakistan and the United Kingdom. The Power segment constructs and operates electricity generating plants, which provide electricity in Cuba. The Corporate and Other segment is consisted of the metallurgical technology business and mineral products division.
