The North West Company Inc. (NWC) is a retailer to rural communities and urban neighborhoods in northern Canada, western Canada, rural Alaska, the South Pacific and the Caribbean. The Company's stores offer a range of products and services with an emphasis on food. NWC operates through two segments. Its Canadian operations segment operates 121 Northern stores, which offers a combination of food, financial services and general merchandise; six NorthMart stores, 12 Quickstop convenience stores, 32 Giant Tiger junior discount stores, two Valu Lots discount centers; one Solo Market store and one Price Chopper store, one Tim Hortons franchise restaurant, Crescent Multi Foods, two North West Company Fur Marketing outlets and The Inuit Art Marketing Service. The Company’s International Operations segment operates approximately 27 AC Value Centers stores, 13 Cost-U-Less warehouse stores, one Island Fresh Supermarket, six Quickstop convenience stores and Pacific Alaska Wholesale.
