Description

Norbord Inc. is an international producer of wood-based panels with 13 plant locations in the United States, Europe and Canada. The Company is a producer of oriented strand board (OSB) with an annual capacity of 5 billion square feet (3/8-inch basis). The core assets of its OSB business are located in the South East region of the United States. The Company is also a producer of wood-based panels in the United Kingdom. In addition, it manufactures medium density fibreboard (MDF), particleboard and furniture in Europe. As of December 31, 2012, its operations included 11 OSB mills, two particleboard mills, MDF mill and one furniture plant. The Company purchases wood fibre from third parties that include private landowners and government-owned and managed timberlands. North America is the principal market for its products. Effective July 2012, it suspended production at its OSB mill in Val-d�Or, Quebec.
