Birchcliff Energy Ltd. (Birchcliff) is an intermediate oil and gas exploration, development and production company based in Calgary, Alberta. The Company is engaged in the business of exploring for, developing and producing oil and natural gas resources in the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin with operations focused in one core area of Alberta, the Peace River Arch. The Company operates within three districts within the Peace River Arch, which includes West District, North District and East District. The principal asset in the West District is the Montney/Doig Natural Gas Resource Play. Within the North District, the principal asset is the Worsley Light Oil Resource Play. The Progress Doe Creek oil pool, Progress Halfway oil pool and the Montney/Doig Natural Gas Resource Play are the East District�s primary assets. During 2011, Birchcliff acquired 110,464 (110,464 net) acres of undeveloped land, all in its core area of the Peace River Arch of Alberta.
