Description

Athabasca Oil Corporation, formerly Athabasca Oil Sands Corp.,is a development-stage company. The Company is focused on development of oil resource plays in Alberta, Canada. The Company is organized into two divisions: thermal oil and light oil. It holds over 3.5 million net acres of mineral leases in the northwestern and Athabasca regions of Alberta. Its thermal oil includes five project areas with over 9.2 billion barrels of contingent resources. The Company�s major thermal oil projects are Hangingstone (100%), Dover West (100%), Dover (40%), Birch (100%) and Grosmont (50%). Its light oil division�s initial development areas include Kaybob, Simonette and Grande Prairie. It produces light oil and natural gas using horizontal drilling and multi-stage hydraulic fracturing technology. On March 15, 2012, the Company sold its remaining 40% interest in the MacKay River thermal oil project.
