Description
China Merchants Energy Shipping Co., Ltd. is principally engaged in deep sea shipping business. The Company operates its businesses through tanker transportation, bulk cargo vessel transportation, liquefied natural gas (LNG) vessel transportation, shipping company management and investment holding business. The Company deals with transportation services of oil, iron mineral ores, crops, steel materials, aluminum oxide and LNG. During the year ended December 31, 2011, the Company transported approximately 31.89 million tons of crude oil, as well as 10.36 million tons of bulk goods. As of December 31, 2011, the Company operated 21 oil tankers and 19 bulk cargo vessels.
