CGX Energy Inc. (CGX) is an oil and gas exploration and production company operating in Guyana, South America and headquartered in Toronto, Canada. The Company through its foreign subsidiaries holds interests in four petroleum agreements (PAs) (Corentyne, Georgetown, Berbice, and Pomeroon) in the Guyana-Suriname Basin, a frontier basin in South America. The Company�s licenses in Guyana cover 7.8 million acres gross, 6.4 million acres net. The Corentyne PA covers two Petroleum Prospecting Licences (PPLs), the Annex PPL and the Corentyne PPL, each owned 100% by CGX Resources Inc. (CGX Resources). The Corentyne PPL is also split into two components - the exploration rights offshore owned 100% by CGX Resources and the exploration rights onshore owned 100% by ON Energy Inc. (ON Energy). The Company has a 62% ownership interest in ON Energy. In April 2013, Pacific Rubiales Energy Corp raised its interest to 64.891% from 18.956%, by acquiring a further 45.935% stake in CGX Energy Inc.
