The investment seeks total return consisting of a high level of current income and capital appreciation. The fund invests normally at least 80% of its net assets in below investment-grade corporate debt securities and up to 25% of the fund's total assets in U.S. dollar-denominated debt securities of foreign issuers. It invests principally in below investment-grade debt securities (often called "high-yield" securities or "junk bonds") of corporate issuers. These include traditional corporate bonds as well as bank loans. These securities may have fixed, floating or variable rates.
