China Rare Earth Holdings Limited is an investment holding company. The Company, along with its subsidiaries, is engaged in the manufacture and sale of rare earth products and refractory products. It operates in two segments. The rare earth segment is engaged in the manufacture and sale of rare earth products, including fluorescent products. The refractory segment is engaged in the manufacture and sale of refractory products, including high-temperature ceramics products and magnesium grains. On 12 August, 2011, a subsidiary of the Company, Yixing Xinwei Leeshing Rare Earth Company Limited disposed of its entire interest in Jianghua Yao Nationality Autonomous County Xinghua Rare Earth Company Limited. As a result of this disposal, the rare earth business of the Company was discontinued.
