Sonae Industria Sgps SA is a Portugal-based holding company active in the manufacture of wood-based panels and derivative items. Its product portfolio includes particleboard (PB), medium density fibreboard (MDF), oriented strandboard (OSB), eucalyptus hardboard, wood veneer faced board, laminate flooring, high pressure decorative laminates and melamine faced chipboard (MFC), which are used in various applications, such as furniture, floors, doors, packaging and interior decoration. It operates industrial plants and commercial facilities located in Portugal, Spain, France, Germany, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Netherlands, Canada and South Africa. As of December 31, 2011, it had a number of subsidiaries, including Agepan Eiweiler Management GmbH, Agloma Investimentos SGPS SA, Aserraderos de Cuellar SA, BHW Beeskow Holzwerkstoffe GmbH and Darbo SAS, among others. On September 14, 2012, its subsidiary, Sonae Industria Ltd, closed manufacturing operations in Knowsley, the United Kingdom.
