Titan Medical Inc. (Titan) is a development-stage company focused on the development and commercialization of robotic surgical technologies. The Company is developing the Amadeus Robotic Surgical Platform (Amadeus), a four-armed robotic surgical system. The development of Amadeus has three phases. The Amadeus system includes single and multiple port access capability with the objective of performing complex procedures directed by the surgeon team. During the year ended December 31, 2011, the Company announced its Amadeus Composer Surgical System, (Amadeus Composer), designed to allow for the expansion of robotic surgery into areas of surgical specialties and procedures. The Amadeus Composer is designed to allow surgeons to perform procedures within small to medium size surgical spaces such as ear, nose and throat applications.
