Description
Finolex Industries Limited (FIL) is in the plastics business. The Company's primary segments are PolyVinyl Chloride (PVC), Pipes & fittings and Power. Its products include PVC U pipes and fittings, PVC resin and chemicals. The range of PVC-U pipes and fittings that FIL offers include selfit PVC-U Pipes (for agriculture and potable water supply), ringfit PVC-U pipes (for agriculture and potable water supply), moulded fittings for agriculture, fabricated fittings for agriculture, protector well casings and screens and underground sewerage pipes. PVC is a thermoplastic resin. Chemical products include ethylene di chloride (EDC) and methanol. EDC is used as solvent by various industries, such as pharmaceuticals, fertilizers and natural extracts. During the fiscal year ended March 31, 2012 (fiscal 2012), the Company sold 1,50,730 metric tons of pipes and fittings.
