Amica Mature Lifestyles Inc. (Amica) is engaged in the design, development, marketing, management and ownership of luxury seniors� residences. Amica owns varying percentage interests in and manages 25 seniors rental residences (including an acquisition that the Company is transitioning to rebrand, one under development and one in pre-development), in Canada. It has two segments: property ownership and corporate operations and management operations. Under its property ownership and corporate operations segment, it reports the results of its seniors residences, which it wholly owns, the results of the seniors residences in which it has control or joint control. In January 2012, it acquired Quinte Gardens retirement residence. In September 2012, it acquired an additional 90% ownership interest in Amica at Bearbrook.
