Globe Specialty Metals, Inc. (GSM), is a producer of silicon metal and silicon-based alloys, with approximately 120,000 metric tons (MT) of silicon metal capacity (excluding Dow Corning Corporation�s portion of the capacity of its Alloy, West Virginia plant) and 120,000 MT of silicon-based alloys capacity. The Company operating segments include GMI, Globe Metais, Globe Metales, Solsil, Corporate and Other. As of June 30, 2012 (fiscal 2012), the Company products were produced in 7 principal operating facilities located in the United States, Canada and Argentina. In addition, the Company operates facilities in Poland and China. In July 2011, the Company acquired Alden Resources, LLC.
