High River Gold Mines Ltd. (High River) is a Canada-based gold mining company with producing mines and exploration and development projects in Burkina Faso (West Africa) and Russia. The Company has two underground mines, Zun-Holba and Irokinda, which is situated in the Lake Baikal region of Russia with a production base of approximately 150,000 ounces of gold per year. It has two open pit gold mines, Berezitovy in Russia and Taparko-Bouroum in Burkina Faso. The Taparko-Bouroum gold mine is operated by SOMITA SA, a company owned 90% by High River. The Berezitovy property comprises one Mineral Licence covering a total area of 1,810 hectares. High River has a 90% interest in a development project, the Bissa gold project in Burkina Faso, and a 50% interest in an exploration project with NI 43-101 compliant resource estimates, the Prognoz silver project in Russia. Effective March 13, 2013, Nord Gold NV acquire 24.945% interest in the Company.
