New Zealand Energy Corp. (NZEC) is an oil and natural gas company engaged in the exploration, acquisition and development of petroleum and natural gas assets in New Zealand. The Company�s major assets are located in the Taranaki Basin and East Coast Basin of New Zealand�s North Island. NZEC has drilled 10 exploration wells in the Taranaki Basin and made six oil discoveries. In the Taranaki Basin, NZEC holds a 100% interest in Petroleum Exploration Permit 51150, a 65% interest in PEP 51151 in partnership with L&M Energy Limited, and a 60% interest in PEP 54867. In October 2013, Origin Energy Ltd announced the completion of the divestment of Tariki, Ahuroa, Waihapa and Ngaere (TAWN) licenses, as well as the Waihapa Production Station and associated gathering and sales infrastructure in New Zealand, to New Zealand Energy Corp (NZEC).
