SHANGHAI Chinese shares fell on Tuesday, as Beijing scrambled once again to prop up a stock market whose wild gyrations have heightened fears about the financial stability of the world's second biggest economy.
Strong sales of the Creamy Chocolate Chill drink and Chicken Fries helped the parent company of Tim Hortons and Burger King post a better-than-expected second-quarter profit, said chief executive Daniel Schwartz.
Suncor Energy Inc. (NYSE:SU) reported a rise of 22.9% or 1,602,085 shares in its short interest. The short figure came in at 0.6% of the total floats.
