The company publishes about 60 local, regional, and specialty publications in some 35 local markets. It also publishes about 10 national publications targeting long-haul truck drivers. Titles include Closeout News, Auto Weekly, and Trucker's Connection. Most of Target Media's publications offer both print and Web editions. The company was formed in 1998, and was previously a joint venture between Times Mirror, DLJ Merchant Banking Partners, and former management of Recycler Classifieds, a Los Angeles-based publisher of free ad classified and car photo ad papers.
