GMP Companies has pinned its future on medical device maker LifeSync Corporation, its sole commercial operation. LifeSync develops and markets wireless electrocardiogram (ECG) systems for use in hospitals and outpatient settings. Based on Bluetooth technology, the LifeSync system can transmit a patient's vital signs to existing monitors. The system uses disposable LeadWear sensors which cut down on infection risk and eliminate tangled wires that can hinder care and movement. LifeSync also licenses its technology to other medical equipment makers, such as Medtronic, for use with implantable or wearable medical devices.
