Gifts in Kind International helps companies find ways to be kind. The not-for-profit organization accepts gifts of products and services from corporate clients and distributes these donations to more than 150,000 community charities in the US and globally that directly help communities and people in need. About half of the FORTUNE 100 makes contributions through Gifts in Kind International, which has certified more than 200,000 charities as potential recipients. Gifts in Kind International began operating in 1983 when 3M donated $12 million in new office equipment. The organization is known for its cost-efficiency, as more than 99% of its donations go directly to communities.
