Newspaper syndicate Creators Syndicate represents and distributes more than 100 newspaper features to some 2,400 newspapers and Internet sites worldwide. Its content includes comics (Andy Capp, Momma, B.C.), advice (Dear Margo), and opinion (Molly Ivins, Robert Novak). The company was founded in 1987 by Richard Newcombe and its first columnist was Ann Landers. (The late columnist's work still appear in newspapers as "Classic" Ann Landers columns.) In 2008 Creators Syndicate bought the Copley News Service from The Copley Press in order to form Creators News Service. Creators Syndicate is one of the biggest independent syndicates; most of the others are owned by newspaper chains.
