Swedish Covenant Hospital takes the welfare of Chicago residents to heart. The not-for-profit academic hospital is an acute care facility with about 325 beds. It provides inpatient and outpatient services, emergency care, surgery, and extended care, as well as family medicine, home care, and occupational health care services in the Chicago area. Specialized offerings include cardiac, cancer, pediatric, women's health, orthopedic, and psychiatric programs. It also conducts physician residency programs and has several satellite health care facilities offering outpatient services. Swedish Covenant Hospital was founded by the Evangelical Covenant Church in 1886 and is managed by the Covenant Ministries of Benevolence.
