If you ever find yourself shouting "Fight! Fight! Fight! for IOWA", most likely you're a current, former, or honorary Hawkeye. Since 1956, The University of Iowa Foundation has been organizing University of Iowa fund-raising campaigns to get private contributions for equipment, facilities, fellowships, professorships, research, and scholarships. Its endowment, which is almost entirely restricted to donor-specified uses, is valued at more than $690 million. Though independent of the school, the not-for-profit organization is the university's preferred channel for contributions.
