Founded in 1956 in Fairfax, Virginia, Inova Health System is a not-for-profit health care provider, offering acute care, long-term care, home health care, mental health, research, and satellite family practice and emergency care services in the northern Virginia suburbs of Washington, DC. Inova's network consists of six hospitals (including a children's hospital) with some 1,800 beds, as well as nursing homes for seniors with another 500 beds.
