All hands are on the mill floor at Star of the West Milling. The company operates five flour mills in four US states and 10 storage elevators. The mills and elevators store and process wheat, corn, and soybeans. Its flour milling capacity is about 40,000 lbs. per day. North Star Bean, a division of Star of the West, processes beans such as navy, pinto, kidney, and black beans into dry commodity products. The company also owns Eastern Michigan Grain, an elevator that offers grain handling and marketing services. Star of the West Milling sells its flour and beans worldwide to canning and packaging customers the likes of Kellogg, General Mills, Nabisco, and Pepperidge Farm.
