The Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) has a lot to manage. This Department of Defense (DoD) group handles about 17,000 domestic and foreign Defense contractors and some 360,000 contracts valued at more than $900,000 billion. The DCMA works directly with DoD vendors to ensure that their supplies and services meet specifications and are delivered on time and at budget. During the initial phase of acquisition, the DCMA provides advisory services, helps select suppliers, and writes contracts. Through the life of the resulting contract, it monitors supplier performance. The DCMA operates some 90 offices around the world.
