At incorporation in 1964, Breda Telephone was named for its Iowa hometown. But in 2001 the telephone cooperative adopted a winning acronym when it began using the Western Iowa Networks (W.I.N.) brand. The company provides rural local-exchange carrier services to Breda and the surrounding rural towns of southern and central Iowa. Services include local-exchange access and long-distance network services. It also offers cable TV and Internet access services in some locations and offers the retail sale of telecommunications equipment, including wireless services and equipment. The telephone co-op is owned by its customers.
