Locator service PartsBase puts aircraft parts online. The company maintains an Internet database of some 50 million new, used, and overhauled parts and products used by companies in the aerospace, aviation, and defense industries. The PartsBase service has more than 4,000 clients, including airlines, fixed-base operators, government contractors, OEMs, parts distributors, and maintenance, repair, and overhaul facilities. Among the companies that use the PartsBase service to buy or sell parts are JetBlue, Honeywell, Lockheed Martin Aeronautics, Raytheon, and all branches of the US Armed Forces. CEO Robert Hammond took the company private in 2003 through a company he set up, Hammond Acquisition Corporation.
