Vale Limited (formerly Vale Inco) turns nickel into gold. The base metals company is one of the world's leading producers of nickel, which is used to manufacture stainless steel and batteries. Vale Limited also mines and processes copper, gold, cobalt, and platinum metals. It makes nickel battery materials and nickel foams, flakes, and powders for use in catalysts, electronics, and paints. The company is also planning a potash development project in Saskatchewan. Vale Limited has operations in Brazil, Canada, Indonesia, New Caledonia, the UK, and the US. It's been a subsidiary of Brazilian miner Vale since 2007. The company changed its name to Vale Limited in 2010.
