Oakland University is the OU of the North. The Michigan public university serves a student base of more than 19,500, offering about 130 baccalaureate degree programs and more than 100 graduate degree and certificate programs. It boasts a student-to-faculty ratio of 22-to-1. In addition to academic and specialty programs in areas ranging from business and technology to nursing and athletics, its faculty members also coordinate hands-on research projects for graduate students. The main university campus spans some 1,500 acres that house seven academic schools and colleges in Rochester, Michigan. Oakland University also has satellite campuses in Macomb County and a law school in Auburn Hills.
