Stevenson University is a career-focused liberal arts college with more than 4,000 undergraduate and graduate students. It has about 500 faculty members and a student-to-teacher ratio of 17:1. The school has two locations in Stevenson and Owings Mills, Maryland, near Baltimore. It offers more than 20 bachelor's degree programs, as well as a handful of master's degree programs, at six schools in areas including business and leadership, education, design, humanities, information technologies, and forensic studies. The school was founded as medical-secretarial training institute Villa Julie College in 1947; it became a university and changed its name to Stevenson in 2008.
