To make a mosaic, one must put together lots of tiny bits to form a larger picture. Mosaic Films has that process down pat. The independent film studio is noted for documentary work in and outside of the UK, specializing in international co-productions that have aired on the BBC, Channel 4, and ITV, among other major broadcasters. Titles include Seeking Refuge and Peru: Undermining Justice. The company traces its roots to 1974, when Colin Luke formed documentary production company Wobbly Pictures. In 1995 it merged with Mosaic Pictures (most of whose assets were eventually acquired by Aquarium Studios), when the two firms combined resources to produce Russian Wonderland, a 13-part series for BBC2.
