The company operates the Five Guys Burgers and Fries quick-service restaurant franchise, which offers a simple menu of burgers, fries, and hot dogs. It prides itself on using fresh ground beef and cooking its fries in peanut oil; in keeping with the peanut theme, its restaurants also serve peanuts in bulk. Five Guys takes its name from Jerry Murrell, who opened his first restaurant in Arlington, Virginia with his wife in 1986, and the couple's five sons -- Jim, Matt, Chad, Ben, and Tyler. Since its founding, Five Guys has grown to more than 900 locations in 40 states and Canada.
