For folks who live in Wyoming, the University of Wyoming (UW) is it -- the only place offering baccalaureate and graduate degrees, as well as research and outreach services that stretch across the state. The main campus is in Laramie, but the school also has a campus in Casper (offering coordinated education programs with the Casper College), plus regional outreach education centers stationed throughout the state. Founded in 1887, UW has grown to serve more than 13,000 students with about 200 programs of study through seven academic colleges, as well as numerous schools and institutes. The university has a student-to-faculty ratio of 14:1.
