ICA AB (formerly ICA Ahold AB) has a royal hold on the Nordic grocery market. Scandinavia's #1 grocery chain, it runs more than 2,200 retail stores in Sweden, Norway, and the Baltic countries. Its ICA Sverige unit is one of Sweden's top food retail company, and ICA Norge is one of Norway's leading food retailers. Outlets include RIMI and Netto discount stores, N�ra neighborhood shops, ICA Supermarkets, and Maxi hypermarkets. Other interests include financial services in Sweden (ICA Banken) and health and beauty stores. ICA was formed in 1999 when ICA Handlarnas bought Norway's Hakon Gruppen. The grocery retailer is jointly owned by Dutch retail group Royal Ahold (60%) and Hakon Invest (40%).
