Queen's University of Belfast aims to provide a royal educational experience. One of the UK's top research institutions, the university is organized into 20 schools, including biological sciences, education, geography, history, law, medicine, nursing, and pharmacy. Associate colleges St. Mary's University College and Stranmillis University College specialize in teacher's education, while the Institute of Professional Legal Studies and Institute of Theology provide postgraduate trainee and ordination courses. Queen's enrolls some 17,000 students and has 3,700 staff members (including 1,100 academics, giving it a student-teacher ratio of about 16-to-1).
