King's College emphasizes intelligence over royalty. The school is a Catholic university offering more than 35 majors in allied health, business, education, natural science, and humanities and social sciences. King's enrolls about 2,700 undergraduate and graduate students. The school also offers about a dozen pre-professional programs, as well as special concentration programs in ethics, forensic studies, and other fields. Founded in 1946 by the Holy Cross congregation from the University of Notre Dame, the school is part of a national network of Holy Cross colleges and universities.
