This Carolina CAT does more than scratch the surface of the construction business in the Carolina region. The company, which was formerly known as Carolina Tractor, is a major supplier of Caterpillar equipment, tools and parts, and service in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia. Its rents and sells a variety of heavy equipment including forestry and construction vehicles, truck engines, hydraulic systems, cranes, power generators, and material handling equipment. Carolina CAT, which was founded in 1926, is one of the oldest Caterpillar dealers in the US. L. M. Weisiger bought a share in Carolina Tractor in 1930; today the company is owned and operated by his son and grandson.
