For many guitar players, LaSiDo is as essential as do-re-mi. The company is best known for its Seagull acoustic guitars and Godin electric guitars; other brands include Simon & Patrick, Norman, Art & Lutherie, and LaPatrie. Its products range from a basic acoustic to a tricked-out electric model. The company strives to keep its handcrafted guitars priced below most of the competition by advertising on a shoestring budget and selling directly to music stores. LaSiDo guitars are made primarily in Quebec, although some assembly is done in New Hampshire; they are shipped to more than 40 countries worldwide. Founder and master luthier Robert Godin owns LaSiDo.
