Fifth Generation was the first legal distillery in Texas and the only present-day distiller of the clear spirit known as vodka in the Lone Star State. The company's lone brand is Tito's Handmade Vodka. It is distilled using round pot stills (yep, a good old-fashioned still) rather than modern distillation columns and is made using only corn and distilled six times. Tito's is distributed throughout the US, as well as in parts of Canada. Companies that distribute the micro-distilled vodka include Glazer's and National Distributing Company. Fifth Generation was founded in 1995 by Burt B. "Tito" Beveridge, who began making vodka to hand out as Christmas gifts. The company now produces 230,000 cases of vodka a year.
