This group of village people operates apartment communities, not onstage at a revival show. Village Green develops and manages luxury, middle-market, and senior apartment communities in about a dozen states. Its portfolio includes some 40,000 units in more than 140 properties branded as City Apartments, Regents Park, Village Green, Village Park, and Leading Furnished Suites brand. The company also provides consulting to, and manages multifamily communities for, other property owners. Joseph Holtzman, the grandfather of CEO Jonathan Holtzman, founded the company in 1919. In 2011 Compatriot Capital, a unit of Sammons Enterprises, acquired a 50% stake in Village Green.
