Summit Business Media wants to climb to great heights in the business-to-business media world. The company offers about 15 magazines, 20 websites, and 150 reference titles primarily to professionals in the insurance, financial, and professional services industries. It publishes specialty titles such as National Underwriter Life/Health, Senior Market Advisor, and Agent's Sales Journal. It also produces industry-focused conferences and events. Summit Business was formed in 2006 by Chicago-based private equity firm Wind Point Partners, which owns a majority of the company. It filed for Chapter 11 in 2011 in order to cut about $140 million of debt from its balance sheet, and exited bankruptcy later that year.
