As an owner and operator of about two dozen television stations, Hoak Media operates in small- to medium-sized markets, primarily in North and South Dakota, but also in Colorado, Nebraska, Louisiana, and other states. Its portfolio of stations contains affiliates of all four major networks, as well as The CW and MyNetworkTV affiliates. Hoak Media was founded in 2003 by Jim Hoak, CEO Eric Van den Branden, and other investors. The company has added stations to its portfolio in almost every year since its founding.
